Crispy Golden Brown Egg Rolls

Ingredients

For the Filling:

  • 1 lb ground pork or chicken (or tofu for a vegetarian option)
  • 2 cups shredded cabbage
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • 3 green onions, finely chopped

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp grated ginger (optional)

  • 12-15 egg roll wrappers
  • 1 egg, beaten (for sealing)
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Filling

  1. Cook the Meat
    • In a large skillet, cook the ground pork or chicken over medium-high heat until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Add Vegetables and Seasoning
    • Stir in the cabbage, carrots, garlic, ginger (if using), and green onions. Sauté for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables soften.
    • Add soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Mix well and cook for another 1-2 minutes. Remove from heat and let the filling cool.

Step 2: Assemble the Egg Rolls
