Ham and Cheese Puff Pastry Pinwheels

Ham and Cheese Puff Pastry Pinwheels are a delicious and easy-to-make snack or appetizer. Here’s a simple recipe for you to try:

Ingredients:

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry (store-bought, thawed if frozen)

  • 4-6 slices of ham (preferably thinly sliced)

  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, Swiss, or a mix)

  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard (optional)

  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface until it is about 1/8-inch thick.

  3. Spread the mustard (if using) evenly over the entire surface of the puff pastry, leaving a small border around the edges.

  4. Layer the ham slices over the puff pastry, covering most of the surface.

  5. Sprinkle the shredded cheese evenly over the ham.

  6. Season with a little salt and pepper to taste.

  7. Roll the pastry tightly from one edge, creating a long log or cylinder.

  8. Slice the rolled pastry into 1-inch pinwheels.

  9. Arrange the pinwheels on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each one.

  10. Make an egg wash by beating the egg with a tablespoon of water. Brush the tops of the pinwheels with the egg wash to give them a golden color when baked.

  11. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the pinwheels are golden brown and the cheese is melted.

  12. Serve warm and enjoy!

These pinwheels are perfect for a party, a quick snack, or a light lunch. You can also customize them by adding different fillings, such as spinach, tomatoes, or even bacon.
