Ingredients

For the Crust:

  • 1½ cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

For the Filling:

  • 24 oz (3 blocks) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp orange zest (from 1-2 oranges)
  • 1/2 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 1/2 cup sour cream

For the Topping (Optional):

  • 1 cup whipped cream
  • Orange slices or zest for garnish

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Crust

  1. Preheat Oven
    • Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C).
  2. Make the Crust
    • In a bowl, mix graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and melted butter until the mixture resembles wet sand.
  3. Press into Pan
    • Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan. Use a flat-bottomed cup to pack it firmly.
  4. Bake
    • Bake the crust for 8-10 minutes. Remove from the oven and let it cool.

Step 2: Make the Filling

  1. Beat Cream Cheese
    • In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth.
  2. Add Sugar and Eggs
    • Gradually add sugar, then beat in eggs one at a time.
  3. Flavor It
    • Mix in vanilla extract, orange zest, and orange juice. Finally, fold in the sour cream until smooth.

Step 3: Assemble and Bake

  1. Pour Filling
    • Pour the orange cheesecake filling over the cooled crust.
  2. Bake
    • Place the springform pan in a water bath (wrap the bottom in foil to prevent leaks) and bake for 55-65 minutes. The edges should be set, but the center will jiggle slightly.
  3. Cool
    • Turn off the oven, crack the door, and let the cheesecake cool inside for 1 hour. Then refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.

Step 4: Add Topping (Optional)

  1. Decorate
    • Top with whipped cream and garnish with orange slices or additional zest before serving.

Tips

  • Make It Shine: A glaze made with orange marmalade can be brushed over the top for added sweetness.
  • Storage: Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
  • Freeze It: Cheesecake freezes beautifully! Wrap slices individually for a quick treat later.

Enjoy the creamy, citrusy goodness of this Orange Cheesecake—a dessert that’s as beautiful as it is delicious! ✨
