Garlic Butter Steak Bites with Creamy Mashed Potatoes

If you’re looking for a hearty meal that’s full of flavor, you can’t go wrong with Garlic Butter Steak Bites paired with creamy mashed potatoes. This dish is not only easy to make but also a crowd-pleaser! Let’s dive in.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • 2 lbs russet potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup sour cream

Directions

Step 1: Make the Mashed Potatoes

Put the potato chunks in a large pot. Cover them with cold water and add a bit of salt. Bring the pot to a boil. Let the potatoes cook until they are fork-tender, which should take about 15-20 minutes. Once they are ready, drain the water and return the potatoes to the pot. Add the milk, 4 tablespoons of butter, and sour cream. Mash them all together until smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste, and keep them warm.

Step 2: Cook the Steak Bites

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. While the oil heats, season the steak pieces with salt and pepper. Add the steak bites to the skillet in batches so they can sear nicely. Cook them for about 2-3 minutes on each side until they are brown. Once cooked, remove the steak bites from the skillet and set them aside.

Step 3: Prepare the Garlic Butter Sauce

In the same skillet, lower the heat to medium. Add in the unsalted butter and minced garlic. Sauté for 1-2 minutes until the garlic becomes fragrant, but be sure not to burn it!

Step 4: Combine and Serve

Now it’s time to bring everything together. Add the cooked steak bites back into the skillet and toss them in the garlic butter for another minute.

Serve your garlic butter steak bites over a generous scoop of creamy mashed potatoes. Don’t forget to sprinkle fresh, chopped parsley on top for a pop of color and flavor!
