Neiman Marcus Cake Recipe
Ingredients
Bottom Layer:

1 box yellow cake mix (without pudding)

1 stick (1/2 cup) unsalted butter, melted

1 large egg
Top Layer:

1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened

2 large eggs

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 stick (1/2 cup) unsalted butter, melted

3 ¾ cups powdered sugar (about 1 box)
Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

Prepare the base layer:
In a mixing bowl, combine cake mix, melted butter, and 1 egg. Mix until a soft dough forms.
Press evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish. -
Prepare the top layer:
In another bowl, beat softened cream cheese until smooth. Add eggs, vanilla, and melted butter. Mix until creamy.
Gradually add powdered sugar and mix until fully combined and fluffy. -
Assemble:
Pour cream cheese mixture over the cake base and spread evenly. -
Bake:
Bake for 35–40 minutes. The edges should be golden, and the center slightly jiggly (it sets as it cools). -
Cool completely before cutting into squares or bars. Optional: dust with powdered sugar on top.
