Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs steak (sirloin, ribeye, or your favorite cut), cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 lb baby potatoes, quartered
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter, cubed (optional)
  • Aluminum foil for wrapping

Directions

  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (around 400°F/200°C) or your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, toss the steak pieces and quartered baby potatoes with olive oil, minced garlic, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper until everything is well coated.
  3. Tear off 4 large sheets of aluminum foil (about 12×12 inches each) and divide the steak and potato mixture evenly between them. If you like, add a small cube of butter to each packet.
  4. Fold the sides of the foil over the mixture to make a sealed packet. Make sure the edges are tightly crimped to keep all the flavors inside.
  5. For the grill, place the packets directly on the grill and cook for about 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through. If you are using the oven, place the packets on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes until the potatoes are soft and the steak is cooked through.
  6. Carefully open the packets and garnish with fresh parsley. Serve right from the foil for a fun and easy meal.

Tips to Make Garlic Steak Potato Foil Packets

  • Choose Your Cut of Steak: You can use any steak you like. Sirloin and ribeye work well.
  • Add More Veggies: Feel free to add other vegetables like bell peppers or onions for extra flavor.
